Sean Casey

Director of Instruction

Sean is the Director of Instruction at Glen Abbey and is also Head Coach for the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) National Teams. In 2011, Golf Digest named Sean as one of the top four prominent teachers in Canada. In 2009 he was honored as the “Teacher of the Year” by both the PGA of Ontario and Canada.

Sean coaches competitive juniors through the renowned competitive coaching program at Glen Abbey. The program is designed to help junior golfers develop their skills and prepare them for competition. Sean has coached players from all major tours including The PGA Tour, Web.com Tour and PGA Tour Canada. He also coaches a number of ranked amateur golfers and NCAA Collegiate players. Sean has been the featured instructor in SCOREGolf Magazine eight times and his book, ‘Casey’s Golf Tips’ sells across Canada at Golf Town and online through Amazon.

Tommy started teaching at Glen Abbey in 1993 and is one of the original instructors at the ClubLink Academy at Glen Abbey. He has a long list of students ranging from the beginner to the accomplished player. His passion to help others and friendly personality makes him a popular instructor with all age groups.

Dan Read

Dan joined the Glen Abbey Golf Academy and began his apprenticeship with the PGA of Canada in 2001. A graduate of McMaster University, Dan has business experience that lends itself well to the corporate golf world. In addition to clinics and group lessons, Dan conducts individual and small-group instruction. His relaxed approach helps students to enjoy golf while learning valuable skills. Dan utilizes TrackMan with his students, the worlds most accurate ball flight and swing analysis tool. 


Carrie Vaughan

Carrie is an accomplished player having played in two CN Canadian Women’s Opens and was finalist in the LPGA Tour’s qualifying school. Her dedication to helping junior girls led to her developing our first ever ‘girls only’ coaching programs at Glen Abbey. The success and growth of these programs led to Carrie being honored as "Coach of the year" in 2011 by the Golf Association of Ontario. Coach Carrie's passion lies in making golf more fun for her students and after spending years on the tour, she has found her place on the lesson tee!

Brad is the head coach of our renowned ClubLinkster’s Junior Golf Programs (for children aged 4-10). He helps prepare some of the top ranked juniors in Canada for international competition as coach for the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) National Teams. His passion, easy going personality and desire to help others have led to success for both he and his students. 


Michael Crane

Michael brings 22 years of teaching experience to the Glen Abbey Golf Academy and has been a Class ‘A’ Member of the Canadian PGA for over 17 years. His career highlights include being selected as a Top 50 Golf Instructor in Canada (National Post 2006), PGA of Ontario “Teacher of the Year” (2000) and Toronto Region “Teacher of the Year” (1997).

Michael spent nine years as Executive Director of Instruction at Golf Town (1999-2007) and joins us after spending five years at Lionhead Golf & Country Club. 

Ben Ferguson

A former PGA Tour player originally from Australia but now a Canadian citizen, Ben has been playing Professional Tour Golf for the past 17 years. Ben reached the pinnacle of golf in 2001 playing on the PGA Tour. He has also played other world class tours including Web.com in 1999 and 2002, the Australasian tour in 1998 and is a long-time member of the PGA Tour of Canada.

Ben’s notable achievements include a best finish of 9th in the 2001 Shell Houston Open, along with leading the first round in the 2001 Honda Classic and playing in three Canadian Open Championships on the PGA Tour.

Ben is the winner of the 2000 MTS Classic in Winnipeg and has also had multiple top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour of Canada. Locally, in Ontario Ben has been a dominant player on the Great Lakes Tour with multiple tournament wins as well as 2004 Player of the Year, Order of Merit winner, and Lowest Scoring Average award.

Throughout Ben’s golfing career he has played in many Pro-Ams and knows how to provide each of his playing partners with the best possible experience. While playing with Ben, he can show you have to perform trouble shots, improve your on-course management and his keen eye for the golf swing will help you improve your skills.

Ben has evolved from playing professional golf to instructing players of varying abilities from beginner to advanced levels. There is much to learn from Ben’s wealth of knowledge and experience. Ben advocates solid fundamentals in the swing to all his students because that sets up the framework for a swing that is powerful and efficient.


Mark Brennan

Mark, an instructor from an early age, joined the ClubLink Academy at Glen Abbey in 2015. He brings with him a love for teaching and a determination to make a difference in his students’ game. As an accomplished junior golfer and swimmer, Mark fell in love with the game at Stratford Country Club. In 2012, Mark made the successful transition from swimming instructor to PGA of Canada Teaching Professional and soon became a highly sought after coach and Junior Leader at The Academy at BraeBen. Mark enjoys helping players of all ages discover their own natural abilities, allowing them to tap into their true potential and most importantly, have fun.



Tim O’Connor

Tim brings more than 25 years of experience as a golf journalist, skill in facilitation and teaching to his role, along with boundless curiousity about performance and personal growth.

Tim is certified as a Mind Factor Coach, the coaching program of Karl Morris, the acclaimed European performance coach. Tim has also studied the work of reveered golf coach Fred Shoemaker and attended his Extraordinary Golf workshops, and written extensively of his work with performance coach Paul Dewland.

An author of four golf books, including Moe Norman’s biography and an instruction book on his approach to golf, Tim has written for SCOREGolf and Golf Digest, hosted golf radio programs and covered the PGA Tour. A single digit handicap, Tim blogs on www.oconnorgolf.ca.
